How To Get Started In Affiliate Marketing!

ID-100179250If you want to make money in the internet marketing world, then you should know about affiliate marketing and how it can earn you a great income if done right. Affiliate marketing is arguably the best and easiest way to be able to sell a product online because it requires very little work on your end.

People; whether it be Internet marketing gurus, newbies or in between will create the product and your job is to simply sell it on their behalf in many different ways. You will effectively be the content creator’s sales person and you will get a good percentage commission from any purchases made. A lot of affiliate marketers will offer about a 50% commission and this is a great way to make extra money online or if you are good, it can earn you a recurring income (how cool is that!).

The cool thing about these affiliate programs is that the products practically sell themselves. All you have to do is find the customers or have a decent sized mailing list and try to get them to buy the product. In order to convince people to buy, you will need to find a way to present the product in a way that will entice them to buy and make sure it will be something they would want/need. Whether it be through a blog, video, article or a campaign email, you will need to find a way to get some leads and to convert those leads into buyers.

A good place to start is your Facebook page as it will not take long to develop and make it look attractive to potential customers. You will have plenty of prospective buyers and you simply just need to introduce the product to them in a clear and honest way. However, you will need to be careful because you do not want to appear to be pushy and spammy. A lot of people hate advertisements on Facebook as it disrupts their enjoyment and so you will need to sell the product in a subtle way.

If you are able to find different ways to get more people to notice and ultimately buy your affiliate product, then you will be one step closer towards making money online.

Whether it be a weight loss program, a make money online program or any of the other affiliate products out there, it will solely be up to your marketing efforts, knowledge and skills to make the sale and succeed in affiliate marketing.

As an example here is my affiliate link to John Thornhill’s Simple Traffic Solutions which I am promoting at the moment:

    well hello Stuart

One of the most important factors in affiliate marketing success is knowing your numbers and the best numbers to know are how many are buying and where they are coming from. You should try several marketing strategies until you find one that works for you and your offer but the tragedy is that if you do not know these numbers then you have no way of knowing what works and thus what you should keep doing.

      Hello Igor

I totally agree, you need to know where the buyers are and where/why they followed your affiliate link to buy the product. You need to understand your customer base and try out different strategies if you do not.

    Hi Stuart

Like you mentioned in your blog post those with a large mailing list or facebook contacts will benefit hugely from affiliate marketing as they will already have an established audience and it’s just simply a matter of finding what your audience wants or needs help with, and then find a suitable solution be that a product or service. One key concern is testing and tracking, how would you track any sales or referrals that you made through the facebook marketing channel?

      Hi Sky

I agree that you should promote a product that your audience currently is in need of or want. I am not to sure myself how you would track sales/referrals through Facebook, all I know is that if you have a good Facebook page you can make good sales/referrals using that platform as there are many tools that can help to sell/promote the affiliate product.

I think when you start advertising on Facebook then you get access to demographics and where people are coming from to your ads. Lee Mcintyre was doing a lot of stuff with FB.

P.S. Stuart when I click on your site link in widlink- the link seems to be the widlink source site + your URL – so on my site it is:

      http://andrewservis.com/blog/www.onlinemarketingwithstuart.com

I put it up on the FB group so they’ll know to check the settings – hopefully!

        Hi Andrew

Exactly! Using Facebook you can get a better understanding of who is there, what they want and then go from there.

Many thanks for noticing that problem with the widlink as well, hopefully it should get sorted.
