Building A Twitter Presence

ID-100101582Today I’m going to show you how to build your Twitter presence. Now most internet marketers know how important social networks are to the fundamental success of their online business, but it seems like most tend to overlook the importance and potential that Twitter has to offer.

A lot of people focus on Facebook, and Twitter tends to be overlooked as an inferior version. However, if you want to increase traffic and exposure of your website, then it is a good idea to learn and understand how twitter can help you and your business to really take off.

Twitter is all about being able to send a short message (or tweet!) to all of your followers (people who want to read what you write) and so for your business it is a good idea to try and get as many followers as possible to increase the potential amount of traffic you will receive.

In order to get more followers, you simply need to increase your presence online through different websites. For example, YouTube, LinkedIn profiles, forums will have your Twitter name exposed so people will recognise what you do and hopefully decide to follow you.

Another way to get more followers (and this is not recommended by myself as I have not done it, so do it at your own risk) is by actually “buying” followers online. Though this may seem like cheating, it is a strategy that a lot of people use. This enables you to gain more followers and makes your company look like it has a good reputation. This method can be risky and could have the opposite effect, and I say once again it is not recommended by me as I have not done it.

When you look at any business on twitter, you realise that you respect the ones with the highest amount of followers, your mentality should be to be up there with them. Even if you have no idea what the company is about, you can often “assume” that it is a trusted business with a good reputation. This is why you should build your reputation on twitter to increase exposure.

Twitter is probably my favourite social media site for business and attracting attention. You have to be patient though as you will most likely not get a huge number of followers right away. With just a little time and getting used to how it works, you will surely be able to create a great Twitter following.

Until Next Time,

Stuart
